Our film focuses on Italian author, art critic and feminist Carla Lonzi (1931–1982), founder of the first Roman feminist group Rivolta Femminile in 1972, and her role in 　　the international feminist revolt of the 70s/80s. It drafts the notion of new feminist 　　historiographies by tracing histories unwritten and by opening to date uncharted 　　archives: at the core of its narrative resides Lonzi’s unfinished project on Les Précieuses, a French proto-feminist group active in the 17th century. It is this project our film wants to revisit in an attempt to complete it in a speculative manner, thereby connecting a remote part of the feminist history with possible feminist futures. Adjacently, a tentative lineage in feminist thought towards the present is mapped through a re-staging of an iconic photographic volume titled La strada più lunga by feminist photographer Maria Grazia Chinese from 1975 in the garden of the Casa Internazionale delle Donne in Rome

影片描写有各种心灵创伤和苦恼的城里人参加砍甘蔗队到农村为农民打工，医治自己的心理病态的故事。满目翠绿的色调，伴之于钢琴曲、大提琴曲、摇滚乐、竖琴弹拨等音乐渲染情绪，仿佛在清洗城市的尘埃与精神的劳顿，清新与舒畅油然而生。 　　 　　而电影中也实际砍了7万支甘蔗来进行拍摄，七位年轻演员也前往冲绳的宫古岛等地进行约40天的共同生活。 　　 　　在内容上追求对平凡生活细节的捕捉，例如砍甘蔗队每天如记日记般地重复着田舍、卡车、甘蔗地之间的往返，却每天都有新的成长。在心理上追求平凡，例如《深呼吸的必要》中有一段立花的回忆：“爸爸告诉我游泳起跳时先做个深呼吸，我问深呼吸是不是速度，能使我比赛获胜吗？爸爸说不会加快速度，但会变得很愉快。”立花照父亲的说法做了个深呼吸，可是因此起跳晚了，游了最后一名，却觉得很轻松，不像以前那样难受，于是立花对自己说“最后就最后吧”。在现代社会激烈的竞争中，导演提倡的是自我寻找心理平衡。 　　 　　香里奈推荐的说：“相信每位看这部电影的人都会有不同的感受，希望大家都能感受到不同的想法”。 　　成宫则是说：“被蚊虫攻击的时候真的很讨厌，不过我还是很喜欢冲绳”。 　　 　　另外，值得一提的是MY LITTLE LOVER演唱的同名主题曲《深呼吸的必要》，十分受到好评。
